About the Foundation
The exact date is disputed within the Foundation itself, which we regard as a healthy sign. What is not disputed is what we set out to do.
To help what ought to happen, happen — and to prevent what ought not to happen from interfering with what ought to.
We do not run open calls and we do not publish application deadlines. Initiatives find us, rather than the other way round. In nine years this rule has been broken twice, on both occasions for good reasons that we do not disclose.
Decisions are taken collegially. The composition of the collegium is set out in the governance framework, and the governance framework is approved by the collegium. This arrangement ensures stability.
What we do not do. We do not engage in political activity, we do not participate in campaigns, and we do not support initiatives that would require us to take a public position on contested questions. This is set out in our founding documents, which are currently being updated.

Years are given according to the Foundation’s internal calendar, which coincides with the ordinary one.
